Bell Tech Shocks Empty Bell Tech Shocks

Post by NOMOREWORK Sun Nov 18, 2018 12:58 pm

Replaced the 4 KYB shocks I originally installed and replaced them with Bell Tech to match my 1 inch lowering springs, much better now! Kyb's were OK until I lowered the car. Did some checking here in this section and got proper part # for front shocks then called Summit to confirm and place order. Have to say Thanks to thatfnthing for doing the original research and coming up with the right part #'s for front shocks, also for the tip on removing the dust covers ! Very Happy

What's the part number? Why remove the dust covers? This would be great info for others who want to do the same upgrade.

Here's the discussion:

https://www.g3gm.com/t11009-shocks-for-lowered-cars

The one in question is the front shock, part number 10102I.  They still have the dust cover over the top of the piston shaft.  It won't physically fit inside our A-arms this way, but if you simply remove the dust cover it fits just like any other front shock for our cars.

They no longer list them as applicable for the G3, even on Belltech's website.  However, at the time they did, and they worked for me after I lowered the car.  Looks like Damon23 and NOMOREWORK got similar results.  Summit still shows the old reviews for them back when they were listed for G2 and G3, mostly griping by guys who couldn't figure it out.

Thanks thatfnthing! Great info! I have 1 inch drop springs on my Laguna with the KYB Gas-Adjust shocks. It rides okay but I'd like a little bit better handling. This sounds like the solution.

Always happy to contribute. I'm happy with them. They give a firm ride without being too harsh, and were a huge improvement after lowering the car. I don't know if they're autocross material or anything, but they work great on the street. Smile
