I'm no expert on dashes, but why the hole in the middle of it?

Re: Dash , non A/C
On a non a/c dash there is a vent lever (actually a pull rod) under the steering column, that when Pulled air comes in from the screen at the top of the cowl by the wipers and comes into the car through those center vents.
Theres a second vent lever also under the column that allows the same air from the cowl area come in through a vent right by the fuse box under the dash.
BTW, I have to leave both of the levers closed all the time because with a cowl hood, all the engine hot air goes into the screen and then into the car. So no good for getting fresh air with a cowl hood.

Hi Joe any reasons you can think of why this dash wouldn’t work/too much adaptation to have it go in my car? I am fully aware that it would be incorrect for the dash pad pocket but for the price, condition, and locality I could live with a little non correctness if it would work. Any thoughts?

I dont see any reason why it wouldnt work. I dont think you will have to adapt anything. How bad is yours? If your bottom half is good, I'd opt for the dash cap sprayed the correct color and move the emblem to the pad.

Ok thanks. I’ll have to check the lower half. The top is pretty bad and the corner where you get in is ripped off.

Kevin if you can swing the cost of the dash I would grab it.... the dash pad fit terrible you will hate it and a post of around 100 bucks it's not worth it

I had a big old brain fart when I posted my comment about the hole in the center of the dash folks. Sorry!
