You said recess. Where you just playing around? The black inserts look real good. Looks like you went to the Revin Kevin school of touch up. Keep up the good work Limey. Both projects are looking good.

I not only agree but I can relate…bucket wrote:The current look is a good one, IMHO.

A straight, clean, rust-free body, bright chrome and perfect paint are great for show cars and fair-weather drivers but not so much for daily commuter/grocery getters. Don't get me wrong, I would much prefer that my Monte Carlo looks like she did when new but I would be too preoccupied with keeping her from being stolen. Besides, I like not having to worry about door dings.

different strategy
Well unlike zucchi I have a ~daily driver that has the two original colors only. I understand his concern about theft which is unfortunately severe with certain models. My strategy for that was to get a sedan. No thief would be caught hauling off a sedan would they?

Heat the garage! It is the best thing I did! I am too old to work in the cold anymore.

Yes sir Ray If my daughter would not have informed us she wanted to move out in two years when she is 21 I would have kept it the way they were BUT THERE is not a snowball chance of Lasting in Summer heat that would have happened beforeher moving out So with that said we will be reinstalling the numbers matching 305 back in there after a freshening up as alot of seals were leaking so will give her a Chance to help rebuild it on the cheap Maybe a Better cam and will def get a 4 barrel and intake Maybe Mid length headers will have to see how thngs go after our Move to New House we bought We are Closing in 7 days and a Wake up WE ARE SOOOOOO EXCITED finally after 21 years together buying our first house !!!

Re: Rusty's progress Getting oh so close
What do you do when it reaches 72 degrees in October in Northern Illinois ...You grab an Engine Hoist and yank a weak azz 305 out to prep the OPEN area for a 454 transplant soon.
Also anyone ever found any inspectors numbers on their car while restoring it ??
anyways gonna put new frame side mounts in while empty as these are shot and need replacing What a PITA that is gonna be LOL

THIS HAS THE PAINT MARKER on it Pressure washer could not remove and why I am leaning towards Factory marks on it
