Hello from Fort Riley!!
I use to be very active on here as BigRed10287, or Malicruiser. A lot has happened since I was last regularly active on here!
1. My first 1974 Chevelle was stolen about 5 years ago!
2. I met my wife, got married, had kids, and joined the army lol.
3. I bought another 1974 Chevelle hoping to help fill the whole in my heart from having my first car stolen. Car was a rust bucket, but it was complete, had a clear title, and most importantly was cheap enough for my budget at the time.
4.my first Chevelle was found and returned to me by a good Samaritan who had bought it as a no title purchase for father-son project, but upon inspecting the glove found it very suspicious how much and how recent the critical and personal information in it was. So he looked me up and found I was still searching for my car, called me up and returned it to me just like that. Wouldn't take anything in return at all no matter how much I offered, and wouldn't even tell me how much he had bought it for so that I could pay him back!
So here I am now with two 74 Chevelle's to my name. One is my very first car ever and generally rust free just missing drivetrain and everything under the hood, the other has a body that is rusted completely though over most of it but it's god everything I need for my first one and then some!
Doesn't take a genius to figure out what I did next lol. On a side not the rusted car had an automatic trans in it, but had a manual trans pedal setup still in it! they had strapped up the clutch pedal to the dash with a piece of wire when they swapped in the auto.

Welcome back, Mitch! That's a helluva story...and, so glad the Chevelle found it's way back to you. Helps restore my faith in our fellow man with that guy returning it to you. Don't be a stranger...and, keep us updated on your progress.

I'm about to post up some pictures of how my Chevelle use to be and some of the donor car status second Chevelle that I own as well.

Re: Hello from Fort Riley!!
Thank you! I've got it running and driving again with the 350 from my donor car and a 700r4 swap, have video just can't figure out how to post that from my phone. Had to pull the wiring harness, grill, front bumper, headlight assembly, fan shroud, blower motor/ ac assembly, and support rods from the donor car. New radiator, fuel system, and distributor. Still have to replace speedo cable, put interior back in, and adjust trans linkage. Currently fighting the dash to figure out how to pull my gauge cluster to replace my speedo cable.

Love hearing about the guy returning your car. That’s a real pass-it-forward move that sustains us. It will be great to see it on the road again.

Wow, amazing story. I can't believe you found you car and that the new owner just gave it back. Good luck with bringing it back to it's glory, it looked great with the stripe and wheels.
