On 7 inch rims...Any trim ring fit issues on the rears?
Thanks, Dave

Re: 275/60 rear 255/60 front
Hi Dave :
275/60 is to wide for a 7" rim. (the sidewall will bulge too much)
255/60 is fine, but just barely.
Not sure what you're asking about trim rings.

The Sidewall Bulge on a 7" rally might barely interfere with the them tire sizes using a trim ring Esp with a 275/60 .....255 will be close

Did you ever mount up those tire sizes? I've got the same combo to mount up and think it will look good.

Technically speaking, yes it's "too wide". But even GM ran a 275/60/15 tire on a 7" rim, on the early 90's 454 SS trucks. It works fine.

Re: 275/60 rear 255/60 front
Haven't purchased the tires yet, most likely radial T/A's but those Coopers looked really good on that Monte also. My tire guy also says he's mounted many 275/60's on 7 in rims.
Other options I'm exploring are 255's square on the 7 inch wheels, or purchasing a set of 8 in knock off ralleye's from summit ( I have a 7 inch one for my spare and was impressed by the quality and look).
Tires and wheels would blow the budget this year though.
Lots of conflicting advice (all appreciated) on this but I'm inclined to try the 275's on the 7 inch and if it doesn't work grab 2 more 255's and save the 275's for next year when the budget allows for some 8 or 10 inch wheels.

You can get the Summit Branded Rally wheels for like 55 to 60 each ??

Re: 275/60 rear 255/60 front
I have the wheel vintique rally’s on my 80. I use a 15x8 on the rear with a 255/60 tire and 15x6 on the front. If it was me I would use an 8 with a 275/60. It keeps the tread flatter on the ground instead of pulling the edges up.
