lowering spring kit
I'm looking for lowering springs that come from -75 Monte Carlo.
i have a new set of bilstein b6 shock absorbers so the springs have to fit with them.
if you can recommend something, then i will be happy to accept the tips.

great stance in your car, what shocks it has?REVINKEVIN wrote:I have the Global West springs. I think the car has a good stance. They are not too low. I think it is about 2 inches front and rear.
i looked at the global west website but there were only front springs.

Re: lowering spring kit
I installed Global West small block springs on my car, and it didn't lower it all all, especially the front. Â Mind you my car has no A/C and is pretty lightly optioned, so that might be part of the reason. Â I am probably going to cut half a coil and at some point to drop it a tad. Â I also use Bilstein shocks and like them very much. Â I would recommend them.
I found the Global west springs were a bit too soft on the front end, I'd prefer bit stiffer spring. Has anyone tried Moog 80090 Crown Victoria Police springs? Â They are short and have a 710 in/lbs rating. Â I think they might work well and they are cheap. The B-body guys use them

Re: lowering spring kit
Impalamonte has one of the nicest Montes in the country. I have a big block in my Laguna so the springs I have did lower it. 76 Malibu has a great point, look at the cop springs since his didn’t really lower his car that much.

Re: lowering spring kit
A few years back I installed Belltech 2" lowering spring on my Laguna. Like the Global West springs for a small block V-8 they feel almost too soft. If I had a chance to do it again I'd order front springs for a big block. Better yet, I'd set my suspension up just like Revin Kevin did. The rear springs ride perfect.

Re: lowering spring kit
moog springs i have a good experience. i put 72 le mans part front 5440 and rear cc501, they got a good stance in it.
The Monte Carlo Moog Website offers the numbers fron 590 and rear cc507, has anyone used these?
I want springs that are not too soft. rear height now looks like this, tires 235/75-15.
the following rings are 245/50-18, these are almost an inch smaller in diameter.
a small lowering would be necessary.

Re: lowering spring kit
Those Moog 590s are stock replacement springs. They are only 400 lbs/in so they are on the softer side. They also will probably sit at close to stock height. You can cut the springs (tangential end only) to lower the front end, but its a trial and error process. If you cut too much they are junk. Cutting the springs also slightly increases the spring rate too.
The rear springs you listed are cargo coils, so they are variable rate as opposed to constant rate on the stock springs. They are probably a bit stiffer overall than stock springs, but should sit pretty close to stock height. Rear springs cannot be cut to shorten them.

Re: lowering spring kit
Eaton Detroit spring is a good company. I haven't dealt with them directly, but know several who have and were satisfied. They are more expensive, but you can have them build springs to your spec, including higher spring rates and for a lower ride height. Since you want lowered springs, this might be a good solution.

Re: lowering spring kit
I’ve got Moog 5375 rear springs. They sit close to stock height but feel firmer. On the front I’ve used Belltech 5148 springs with 2” drop spindles. KYB shocks all the way around. Ride is firm without being harsh and i like the stance.

Re: lowering spring kit
I ordered a Belltech 5839 1-inch lowering springs from ebay.
they go to Houston and from there by ship to Finland, it takes 2-3 months.

Re: lowering spring kit
eBay has become such a scam. If you want I will get you some and ship them to you. I would guess that DHL ships to your country. You should make a list of what you need and I can put you together a care package and ship one big box.
