Well, the 18x9’s are only $3,500. I’m sure it’s only another grand to get what you want. Like we have talked about before, if this was the Pro-Touring forum 3 people would have ordered them before you could have responded. I love this site.

The stance you see in this pic was achieved with the Hotchkiss springs intended for a '94-'96 Impala SS that I previously mentioned. She's also outfitted with Bilstein gas shocks. Everything else in the chassis is OEM spec.

whether those springs fit -75 Monte Carlo and whether this is the product:

i have tried to find suitable springs but the stuff is not really available. that hotchkis is in summit stock.

Correct that fuel line while you're that far into it and get rid of that restrictive fire hazard of an aftermarket filter. Ames Performance Engineering has the correct pre-bent fuel line. Make sure you have the OEM filter in the Q-Jet inlet.

Yeah, the previous owner must have cut the hardline and installed that filter. Just jumped on Ames website and could not find that line. Do you have a part number?

Probably because you were looking in the Lemans/GTO catalog. You'll find it in the Firebird catalog for 77-79's with the 4-barrel carb. This is the correct one for all W72 400 engines from '77-'79. For years the OEM style foam insulation wrapped hardline wasn't available, but it is now. MY Can Am had this line when my father bought the car in 1990, but much of the foam was deteriorated and gone.

Thanks for the link Brian. I found that they have this item on ebay as well. This was one of the first items I replaced on the 75 Hurst since I can't stand hacked up fuel lines. I believe that one came from Inline Tube. The fit was good but not perfect.

Well got a few more things buttoned up on the Can Am this week. New brake components to fix the almost non-existent brakes it had. Also did an oil change which was quite a job. Because of the exhaust, I couldn't get a conventional filter wrench on, so I tried a couple other tools and finally used the blue handled wrench to loosen it enough to take it off by hand. Not much room to work. But got it done and it sure is nice to have brakes as well.

Is that the same size filter mount pad as a Chevy V8? If so, you can use the AC Delco PF454 filter that is much shorter in length.

Great minds think alike. I pulled out one of my AC Delco filters for my Laguna and did a side to side comparison. Unfortunately they are different. The rubber sealing gasket on the Pontiac filter is a smaller diameter than the Chevy by almost a 1/2". And the threaded opening on the Pontiac filter is about an 1/8" larger than the Chevy. But the external dimensions are very similar. I'll see if I can get a pic of them tomorrow.

Hey Bill, I don’t know if I have told you, but your Can Am has Poncho Power. It’s a real Tin Indian fire breather. ¬†Good luck with your build.

Here's a side by side comparison of the Chevy V-8 oil filter (left) to the Pontiac V-8 filter (right).
