I know your joking. But I really did have to grow up pretty old fashioned. My parent still had a black and white tv 10 years ago. Though things are MUCH better now.

No way! After my mom beat the crap out of the car for a few years, that's all it was worth! Plus back then, $444 ws a lot of money for a 16 year old!

I gave my kid a car though. I told him that when he got his license and graduated, I'd give him my 91 Corsica. It looked a little rough with the hood paint peeling, but it ran great. Only took him 4 months to trash the body on every panel (including trunk and hood), and wreck the engine. That car barely made it to the junkyard on it's own power. It's a good thing I had driven it for enough years that I was sick of it and didn't care about it. Anyway, 3 years later, he still has no car and again has no driver's license. He owes $2,000 for an accident before he can get his license back. He took those priveleges for granted once, and if he ever gets a car or license again, I bet (or hope) he wont make the same mistake twice!

Well can't really blame a parent for wanting to help their kids. And while it wasn't given to me, I still had to pay isurance + gas + plus maintenace, I was ALOWED to drive the cheap used up family mini van until I could afford my own car. Believe it or not that van survived me and my little brother in good enough shape to be traded in for a new Mazda 6 for my mom. lol!

the street cred was created to give to people that HELP the site and point out certain aspects that help another person and the current Street Cred in the way it is used and mis-used it might be a looking at a revamp of the system on how it does work
