Sorry boss....... I took the day off to spend with the wife & kids. Might call it sleeping on the job? Anyways I don't know what I missed, but it looks like a lot. I have a few things to respond to, but only one pops into my head at the moment...... Dan must be a closet ricer! Geo with Eibach coil-overs outrunning Stangs & Camaros, lol.... Sad thing is I won't doubt anything anymore. My Taurus has smoked it's fair share of both as well. I've also seen a 12 second Mitsubishi Mirage!

Re: Chick Magnet?
Yeah Kyle, Mine is actually my wife's backup car that I'm stuck driving for the moment. It's a 2001 with the Duratec DOHC V6 supposedly modded by Roush. It has some sticker under the hood with a list of modifications written in ink. I know the PCM was reprogrammed, it has a K&N style filter, "sport tuned exhaust", & possibly other things? We had a 99 with the same engine before this one & the difference is night/day. Don't get me wrong I'm not a four letter F word fan, but it's pretty funny to shut down a sports car in a four door sedan, LoL!

I'm an F word man...OH you mean a Furd man. Sorry.
I always have been a fan of the Taurus. Love that 2010.

2010 SHO maybe..... All wheel drive, twin turbo, 365hp, six speed trans, mid 13s in the 1/4 mile from the factory.

Re: Chick Magnet?
I like the 2010 SHO, but if I had my pick...I'd rather have a mid 90's SHO like in the picture I posted. Not that the '10 isn't nice...but it's not different enough(appearance wise) from the regular Taurus. You can tell a 90's SHO from a mile away. The '10, I gotta see the "SHO" insignia to tell if it's a SHO or not...

Which is why I like it. Total sleeper. I wish Mitsubishi would have done that with the Evo instead of making a ricer.

Re: Chick Magnet?
Good point (being a sleeper).
One of my favorite things about the SHO is the different body kit on it. I would love to have an early one when you could only get a 5 speed.

Re: Chick Magnet?
Well if you want a sleeper Mitsu what about the 1993 3000GT VR4? That and the Mitsu Starion are the only tuner cars I really want to have some day.Rago wrote:Which is why I like it. Total sleeper. I wish Mitsubishi would have done that with the Evo instead of making a ricer.

Re: Chick Magnet?
You guys can keep all your junky foooords...we did have a mazdaspeed miata at the shop the other day. Turbo 1.8L with 180hp and 6 speed in such a small car, hell yea it was fun. This car was autocrossed so it had some other stuff done to it. Probably the closest car to a forrrd Id get.
Im still in the planing stages of my Turbo Geo Storm project. I do have almost everything needed tho. Hoping to get 160+ hp and 1800 lbs.

Re: Chick Magnet?
Mazdas are nice cars, my parents have two Mazda 6's. My Dad drives the black one while my Mom drives the red one. I'm actually thinking of byeing a used Mazdaspeed 6 for a daily.
I'll have to sell my 97 chevy PU + and my Ranger. With the front seats set for me being as tall and lanky as I am, I can still fit with a little room to spare in the back seat. (even though my head's hitting the roof ) Like the '10 SHO it's very much a family car, and very much a sleeper. Which makes it a true chick magnet (at least around here), fast but not showing off.

I looked at a midnight blue VR4 but I passed on it when I found the Spyder. Eclipses are more comfortable for me & weigh about 1000 lbs less than a 3000GT. Besides who can argue having a drop top on a sunny summer day? Now go ahead & rag on me Dan, I know you want to.

Re: Chick Magnet?
I can never drive a rag-top after having witnessed the end result of one being rolled in person. Yes eclipses are much lighter, but I'm very tall and lanky, so the extra space in the 3kGT (little it may be) really takes priority over weight. Plus I have fondness for big cars, i.e. crown vics, caprice 91-96, and bigger imports.Rago wrote:Malicruiser wrote:Well if you want a sleeper Mitsu what about the 1993 3000GT VR4?
