Silly charging question,
Alternator has gone to the great electrical underworld-I think.
Brand new battery dead, wiring all intatact.
There appears to be a huge range of replacements, from tiny little 40 amps up to 200,
Don't want chrome, don't need to power a stereo system that shakes three counties around here. Just would like a small upgrade from stock.
Recommendations?

Re: Silly charging question,
I would get at least a 60 amp. You running stock ignition? If you go for an aftermarket ignition or electric fuel pump, etc. the bigger amp alternator will handle upgrades like that better.

Re: Silly charging question,
I say plan for the future and go with at least a 100 amp model. Elec fuel pumps, fans, and ignitions can put a big drain on your alt.
