allstate quote for full insured totaling of my car, they pay minimun $27,500 to maximum $31,000 his words were "becuase it is a classic and it is a very hard year to find parts for"- WOW!

YEA THATS KINDA WEIRD MINE CAN ONLY BE INSURED FOR MAX 16 G'S UNLESS I CAN PROVE WITH EVERY SINGLE RECIEPT HOW MUCH ITS ACTUALLY WORTH

I'm glad at least some insurance companies are trying to be fair to us collector car owners. But still it doesn't make sense that a car's value is necessarily based on how much you spend on it. What if you spend millions on useless "bling" garbage - is the car worth what you spent on it? Or what if you painted the car three times, the car isn't worth the price of all three paint jobs even if you have receipts. Or if you bought a bunch of nice performance parts and didn't intall them properly, or they didn't go together properly. Or you did a great restoration a few years back, and kept all the receipts, but then drove it in the salt and abused it like a beater car. See what I mean?
