Re: My '74 Chevelle and my El Camino
My '74 Malibu Classic was that same gold/brass type color originally, I discovered, then painted dark metalic brown with a beige vinyl top. That's how it was when I bought it in 1990. Hard for me to believe that I've owned it for that long! It's Firethorn now, inside and out.

Other than the wheels I'm digging your Elky a lot. Rally wheels & I don't get along too well.

Re: My '74 Chevelle and my El Camino
If I changed from the Rallies, I'd go to a Torq-Thrust D. The ones with the grey centers.

Re: My '74 Chevelle and my El Camino
I was going to run them only for my race tires. You can't have the tirm rings on your rallies when you run.

Re: My '74 Chevelle and my El Camino
It's not so much the Rally wheels themselves, but the nasty looking center cap that I don't like. They just look out of place. Torque Thrust D's OTOH are sweet. I only know of ONE G3 running them & it ain't an Elky. I say go for it.
Look back at some of my older posts about my Keystones (TT look-a-likes). I almost ran those, but couldn't find tires for 14" wheels.

ya rago i agree about the center caps, for a while i was just going to paint my rallys black and leave the trim ring chrome and forget about the center capslol, i think they bulge out to far. im probably just gonna go with the centerline wheels

Re: My '74 Chevelle and my El Camino
Yup. Todd's 77 Malibu. He posted once or twice here, but mainly sticks to the "other" forum.
It's getting a fresh coat of paint right now. Real nice car.

Yeah I found that out recently. I wouldn't mind spraying them black with the flat caps & no trim rings if I had a set.

Re: My '74 Chevelle and my El Camino
LoL, not looking for a set. I like aluminum wheels personally, but if I were stuck with a heavy set of steel Rally wheels, then that's what I would do.... or sell them to some Rally loving sucker for enough money to buy some aluminum rims.

Re: My '74 Chevelle and my El Camino
If you look close on my lastpic here, you can see the red strip i pianted on my trim rings so they look like red red lines from a destanse. And I redid the caps on them too. That was work. LOL

Re: My '74 Chevelle and my El Camino
I noticed that. Nice subtle touch of custom on the red stripes. These are the types of customizing that should be done to cars. Stuff that doesn't jump out at first glance, but takes a second or third look to notice. Professional builders use several of these on all builds to make people stare the car over longer & notice something new every time you see the car. I've always wanted to chop an inch off of the roof of a car just so people would know something wasn't right, but couldn't put their finger on what it was.

Thanks rago.
Choping a top is a lot of work you know but, would be cool to see what a-body would like like with a in out of the top above the window.
