Usually (but not always) a non-locking diff will start making posi marks right before the big BOOM. Might just need to change out the fluid though, that's another possibility.
Keep me updated. I just have a hunch that one too many single wheel burnouts with a 454 powered car has taken it's toll.
he did say that he wanted to put in the 3:42 posi he has in the corner in it this winter.
i tried to warn him about the one wheel wonders, but he acts like a kid sometimes.

Re: burn out ?
My friend is going thru the same thing way to many one wheel spins and when he took his rear apart it was almost heat welded together....for his build sheet say the non posi option as well then all of sudden was getting a posi mark 13 days after he noticed that his car is done till spring with a new rear end getting built for it

Re: burn out ?
Maybe he did the burnout in reverse? I used to do that when I had a one wheel wonder. Pretty sure that's another reason why I always seem to go through transmissions.

Re: burn out ?
You did burnouts in reverse just to make posi marks? Damn, I should take that Street Cred back. LMAO!

Re: burn out ?
As much as I like burnouts, I'm done with them for a while. Sent my transmission back before the warranty was up, and I guess all my fun was not a good idea. Luckily it was in warranty, but the whole thing had to be rebuilt. Apparantly 140mph Overdrive burn outs aren't good on a transmission.

Re: burn out ?
It leaves 2 marks because both tires had the same amount of grip and pressure, if one tires friction excedes the other then the tire with less will spin causing one wheel peel.

Re: burn out ?
sometimes both tires lock up most of the time its just one but once in a great long while you can get both of em to spin
