Would you...(not what you think)
Would you feel comfortable, if your car(s) were kept in a garage belonging to a house, that 100% TOTAL strangers were living in? Even if it was un attached and they had no access to it?
Thoughts, please.

Re: Would you...(not what you think)
yes i would.
only if it was my car in the whole garage and not just part of it.
the problem with my parts in the garage was it was 3 seperate parts, and someone broke in to one paart and took my stuff out of my part by going through the ceiling.

ESPECIALLY if you've already had a car stolen from you.

Under your circumstances I see nothing wrong with it if the building is sturdy. I would also put an alarm on it, believe me its worth the cost. I have an excellant alarm system that I made myself from available pieces from Radio Shack and it works good. Too good when the mice are breeding. JB

Re: Would you...(not what you think)
It just make me uneasy. I already had my Chevelle stolen...and my Plymouth means EVERYTHING to me. Nothing(as far as my possessions go) means more to me than that old car. If anything ever happened to her, I really do not know what I would do. An alarm sounds good though. The Monte has a car alarm that is armed full time when not in use.

They way you described it, no. Your situation being right next door, yes. Try to think of it as being an extra garage on your land instead of being a garage on someone else's land & it will feel better. Definitely lock it down, but that should have already been done by now anyways.
Just wondering, why don't you move into the house & rent it?

It's a separate building from the renter's livable space, they don't have access to it, and it's a stone’s throw away from your house right? I would be fine with it, but would have already taken precautions with or without the renters. Extra dead bolts, an alarm, and a hired gorilla. Ok, just joking about the gorilla. Seriously though, beef up the security a bit. Hell, throw up a fake video camera if you want to.
For the heartache you have already been through, I'm surprised you haven't done it already.
As you know, insurance doesn’t replace sentimental value.

Here's a cheap camera set up. Run the line to your TV & throw in something to record activity when you are asleep or away. Mount the camera in a high corner inside the garage that allows you to see everything inside.
