Re: nice ride at Kmart today
When the tail fins became vogue, Chrysler really ran with it, and hung fins on everything. That Dodge looks like a nice example. That likely would have a hemi if it's a '57. I don't remember what cubic inch it was, around 330 cubic inches I believe. I have a Desoto hemi, that's like 293 cubic inches, it's little guy!

Did anyone notice what was sticking out below the front fender behind the front wheel? That brings back memories. JB

Saw a 73 el camino today. It was dark green and had a bunch of garbage in the back. The poor thing moved so slowly only one car move thru the light after he went thru. Second one i have seen here this spring.

Sorry to contradict you Limey, but K Mart bought out Sears, not the other way around. JBLimey wrote:yea they aint gonna be around for much longer Travis thanks to the corporate buy out of them by Sears they closing them faster than you can buy a part from them

Re: nice ride at Kmart today
Well, I guess it all depends on your point of view. K-mart will own Sears, but will use the Sears name instead of the K-mart name. "NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Kmart is buying Sears, Roebuck & Co. for $11 billion in a deal that will marry two of the nation's oldest retailers that had trouble keeping up with the changes in American culture around them." I am just glad Craftsman tools will still be available. JB

Re: nice ride at Kmart today
Never really been a fan of those years of Dodges. The fins look like an afterthought. Plymouth on the other hand, now THAT's the 1957 car that I wouldn't mind owning.
Wait, Kmart is buying out Sears? Every Kmart in this area dried up decades ago... literally. I think the last one I knew of was in Tulsa & it's been closed for years too. I really thought they went the way of Montgomery Ward.

Re: nice ride at Kmart today
wow they didnt build that very good for the car to be perserved. Thing looks like it was in a pond for 50 years. Kinda makes me sad it sat down there and rotted.

Re: nice ride at Kmart today
It was pretty much in a pond.
Back when the whole Tulsarama 2007 was going on, I read that back in the '80's there was some work done at the Tulsa courthouse, where the Plymouth was buried, and there was heavy machinery going over where it was buried, and cracked the vault open and a lot of moisture got in. There were a few inches of water in the bottom of the vault when they opened it.
