Hello there, my name is William
Hello there, my name is William, I'm the proud owner of 3 1973 buicks:
1. V code Century Stage 1 Bench seat automatic -- Very rusty
2. Century 350/350
3. Regal -- 455/2004r 3:42 posi
My first car was a 1974 Century 455/TH400, its where I got the bug for the 1973 A bodies and never let it go. Along the way I've owned a 1976 442 455/TH400, 1975 H/O and a 1973 Regal 455/TH400 in addition to the three above. Unfortunately having grown up outside of Chicago most of the cars were so rusted little was left to be salvaged. The V code Stage 1 is the last remaining car from my days living in Chicago. The base Century is out of NC and the Regal is from CA. The only one running is the base Century as I pulled the engine from the Regal for a rebuid, then got a bad case of the "might as well" and its been sitting idle for almost 2 years as I slowly work on it. Happy to have found a dedicated site for these cars and look forward to learning as much as I can from everyone.

Hello there, my name is William
Welcome William. It has been said that the Buick was the best of the A bodies in 1973 and several years afterward. I am inclined to agree, but I just do not like the looks of them compared with the Chevy and Olds. My personal opinion, FWIW. JB

Re: Hello there, my name is William
I'll get some pictures of the Stage 1 in July. It is in dry storage, has been for close to 13 years. My company has moved me around the US for the past 12 years, but I elected not to drag the Stage 1 around with me knowing its condition, so it still resides in Illinois. I have pictures of the Century and Regal, will have to figure out how to post them on here.
JB2Wheeler:
As you can tell from my initial post, I am particularly attracted to the Olds and Buick versions of the A Body. Not that I don't appreciate the Grand Ams, Chevelles, Monte Carlos etc, I think the combination of the luxury amenities with the robust torque of the 455's hooked me. The 1975 H/O and the Stage 1 are probably my favorite cars. Great compromise between cruiser and bruiser with more subtle appearances.
