Upper ball joints
I'm installing new upper ball joints and can't figure out if the rubber boot goes on the knuckle before it goes into the control arm, or on the bottom side in the metal housing piece. Anyone know?

Yeah, the stud on the ball joint goes through the boot, then into the spindle. The boot of course, retains the grease & seals it from dirt.

Re: Upper ball joints
I was wondering about this as well and put it inside the metal housing. It just seemed most logical to put it that way to me.
But should it be on the outside, as you say "under " the A-arm 1974 454 Monte? Is there really a big difference between the two?
Original seems to be inside as well, it's a one piece though (right?)
