My 75 Nova
Here are some shots of my Work in Progress 1975 Nova. It was a basket case when I got her buy we are slowly working out the bugs...
In the beginning.......

Step one, Stript and inventory. (with my little ones)

Step 2 Out with the old in with the new (er)

Step 3 Body and Primer.

Step 4 Interior.

As of a couple of weeks ago, This is as far as I am with my Nova.

Just picked up a set of 8.5 mm MSD wires and a Hypertech street and strip Coil and Cap. From my brothers car.
Cheers Chevyboy454.

Re: My 75 Nova
Chevyboy, that's a kick-A$$ project and it really makes me happy to see the whole family get involved. It looks like the kids are really enjoying what they are doing. Starting when I was about 10, my dad forced me and my brothers to work on tons of cars till I left the house for college at 17, and to me it was never fun, though there was of course lots of satisfaction in a job well done. I never liked being forced to do all that work, but it looks like your kids are really into the car and loving every minute of it. That's why I congratulate you on this project!!
Also, I like the old-school Cragars. I've got the same on my 74, but not widened like yours on the back of the Nova. Good luck on the car; it's come a long way so far!

Re: My 75 Nova
Got her back from the body man (or so he calls himself) In total between 2 cars we spent over 11 000 bucks on this guy to straighten out the Velle and my Nova. Both cars have noticible waves in the body hard to see in pics but trust me they are there. This pompus A$$ says we still owe him another 2 g's and because of that he will not release our bumpers, batteries, and a whole bunch of small trim pieces and such. The Velle looks alright as you can see from my other post "My brothers new baby" But have a look at these and tell me I should pay this guy another cent. Even the paint is the wrong red. It was supposed to be darker with a pearl in it and heavy metal flake. Even gave him the code!!

This car was spotless inside, had all the wheel nuts and was drivable. I got it back with a carb full of water ( left the shaker off and the carb exposed in a rain storm... Sheer Genius) no battery, over spray all over the interior.... Ugghhh....

After about 4 hours of cleaning and digging out the old parts I swapped off in the beginning to at least make her drivable...

At least I'm on the road, If you see me just wave as the car waves for me..... So dissapointed ....
Chevyboy454.
P.S.
Looking for a real cheep set of bumpers and a grille and a set of bezels for my Nova. Need to be cheep as this guy tapped me right out. Also looking for a real cheap front bumper and grille for a 75 Velle malibu. This guy isn't getting another dime from me and he can have fun trying to get 2 grand for some bumpers and trim stuff.

Re: My 75 Nova
That sucks man. It's hard to believe the nerve of some people! It looks like he didn't even get any of the door jambs or the rear hatch jamb! What an A$$!
You could even make a court case out of it if you have any documentation on the work...
Regardless, both the Chevelle and Nova do look very good, despite the bodywork mishaps. That just makes it easier for you to wanna beat the piss out of 'em!

Some more updated pics.
Things added...
The missing paint from the doors and trunk etc etc.. Some chrome trim around the flip out windows / Drip rail / Mirrors. Found the Chevy and Nova Tags for the rear. New Leafs with a rebuilt 3.73 Posi rear end.

Cheers C.B. 454..

Re: My 75 Nova
Sucked the front bumper in Today and mounted the grille I picked up (Bought a whole car for 100 bucks!! Not road worthy but good enough for a Derby car) Scored a whack of parts that I was missing / Needed.
Here are the pics from today

The Donor / Derby car.....

LOL the whole Shackle mount Frame and all is missing!

That is an amazing Nova, despite all the BS you had to deal with regarding the "body man". Did you get any better luck with that?

Re: My 75 Nova
looks good. My brother had the same problems with a body shop when he was getting his 70 bug redone a lot of stuff got stolen the wrong color was used and the body work was cheaply done and it still took 9 months to finish and they wanted more money

Re: My 75 Nova
Your Nova brings back memories. My dad had a 77 nove as his daily driver for most of my childhood. Only thing is his never looked near as good as yours does. Matter of fact your donor car looks healthier on the outside than my dads did. It sure was a ratty looking car but man it was fast. I love the look of the pontiac shaker on your car, too bad Chevy never made a shaker hood as far as I know.
We actually found his car again recently but it's been completely trashed. No usible sheet metal, no interior, trim has been trashed, and the engine is nothing more than a rusting short block.

Re: My 75 Nova
I was looking at a 76 Nova before I got my Chevelle. It was brown, with a tan interior and the seats has cloth inlays that were black, white and orange plaid. Steel wheels, dog dish hub caps. 6 banger and rust holes the size of baseballs. Only had an automatic transmission.

Re: My 75 Nova
His brother contacted me on FaceBook, said he's selling it and wanted to know what he should ask for it. They have more than $30,000 into it, I told him to go to the big auction they have on TV every year, it's pn fo rlike 3 days straight, cuz that's the only place I know of where cars sell for that much money. I doubt he'll get that much out of it. There's a limit to how much you can put into a car and actually get that amount back. I think he crossed the limit a long time ago. Nice car, but the guy told me to look for Limey when I get to this site, so he may know a bit more than I do.
