New Neighbors {Sigh}
Well I have a new family that's moved in under the workshop...I'm sure this little gal has at least a couple of siblings...darn varmints. Where's Elmer Fudd when you need him?

Re: New Neighbors {Sigh}
my neighbour had one under their shed, it made the fatal mistake of coming into my yard....stood up behind a tree, bet it never thought the .243 would go through there!!

Re: New Neighbors {Sigh}
Only problem with those critters is that they undermine cement floors & slabs. A handful of moth balls thrown down in the holes may discourage them some.

Re: New Neighbors {Sigh}
Yes, they're wood chucks & no I'm not going to harm them. I'm going to let them be until they are old enough to get around by themselves then try the mothballs to hopefully get them motivated to move out. I just hope that they survive- last year a mother fox & her brood took up residence under there for a week or so. If she comes back- they're screwed.

Re: New Neighbors {Sigh}
Ha...no explosives...but, thought I was going to have to break out my 3-wood on the 10th hole in order to "sort things out"!

I'm not a golfer, but I can imagine what a "3-wood" looks like !

We have one here that lives across the street and chases cats.

This year the woodchuck kinda got booted by a couple of "Wabbits". Â I haven't seen them for a few days. Â I wonder if they've meet there maker as this guy's been hanging around the homestead. Â Â

I'm just happy the skunk lives under the neighbour's front porch and not mine.

Re: New Neighbors {Sigh}
Yesterday morning when I hooked up my dog to run the back yard, I saw a weasel out there. Hadn't seen one in decades.
Anyway, something tore the under-hood insulation off of my old '85 Caddy beater last spring, and It's highly likely it was the weasel. Gotta get a trap & catch that thing.....
Really don't have any other way to get him, since I've seen him only once.

Re: New Neighbors {Sigh}
I hate skunks man...my poor dog got sprayed a few years ago & she had to stay outside for like three days before I could even bathe her. One of the strongest & worst smells I've ever encountered.
Bill, be glad it wasn't one of those wolverines you guys have up there. Weasels are easy to catch- raw chicken in the trap will get it. Do you have a creek or a lake nearby? Â

Re: New Neighbors {Sigh}
Back in 1955 my dad had a new Olds Super 88. We were returning home from a long trip at midnight and were 4 miles from home and he ran over a skunk at 100 MPH. I was asleep in the back floorboard. He had to keep the speed up all the way home just so we could breathe. JB

Re: New Neighbors {Sigh}
No lakes or streams nearby. All farmland around me. The chicken parts in a trap sounds like a good idea to use on the weasel !
My dog did get into a skunk last year, but not too bad. Put her in the bath tub immediately, and used a big can of tomato juice and shampoo on her. It worked great, with no after-small.
