Oh come on.

What is the main reason people sell items on Ebay?
In order to get the most money for the item.
Pure and simple.
Ebay will never be about a good deal, it's about paying for convenience.

If you want good deals, it still requires that you step away from the computer and hunt them down locally.

In some areas (like mine) there simply are no local resources for stuff from this era. The oldest stuff in the yards around here is late 80's (and not a lot of that) and there are no swap meets. This leaves eBay, Craigslist, and boards like this one.

It's possible to find excellent deals on eBay, but it's like everything else -- you have to know how to shop.

That said, when selling something the seller would be wise to look see what others are selling the same thing for, unless the operating principle is "one-born-every-minute". Smile

I found set of rear seat belts w/ retractors from a 76 Nova that will work in my car for like $30.00 including the center sections. Good deals are out there but you definitely have to look hard.

There are however many, many people out there that shoot for the moon & hope someone will pay what they list for. That lighter is outrageous money in my opinion but maybe it will sell to go into a 1970 LS- 6 Chevelle or some other "collector/show car" and for that guy it might be perfect...just not for me.
