I Luv this
This is a pretty cool little truck. Can't remember the last time I ever saw one, let alone w/ a manual trans.

I love the 70's cars everyone else hates! The bigger the better! Overall, I think Lincolns are my favorite 70's era brand. Gimme a Continental Mark V...preferably a Designer Edition(Cartier, Bill Blass, Emilio Pucci, Givenchy)...mmm...!!!

Re: I Luv this
My Dad had one of those little LUV trucks. When I told him it was made overseas, like Japan, he wouldn't believe me at first ! I believe the engine was a Sussuki (sp) (or however it's spelled) !

Re: I Luv this
Even today, a lot of older people (I experience it in my family) believe as long as it has that Furd oval or a Chevy bowtie, that it's all American made. NOPE. But no one will listen to me! Have you heard of the Chevrolet Spark micocar? Built and imported from Korea!
Quite frankly, I would rather buy and drive an AMERICAN built Toyota that was built by OUR hard working people, than a Furd Fusion made in MEXICO.
But that's just me. Sorry to get off topic.

Ever try to buy American-made chevrolet ignition parts for your classic ride? I ask the guy at the parts counter every time just for a laugh...kinda sad ain't it?

Re: I Luv this
When I was a little guy- there were many, many items that were Made in the USA. By middle school it was more & more made in Japan, then Taiwan & now it's China, Indonesia & India. We have to ask ourselves why this is and why most of us let it happen instead of insisting on "American Made." I think it's because it costs more to produce here and it needs to sell for more in order for that product to remain on the market (even though quality is usually better). The big problem in this "Global Economy" is China purposely under-values it's currency (& labor costs too) in order to sell their goods abroad. Given the choice I think manufacturers would make more goods here if it was an equal playing field.

Re: I Luv this
The vast majority of the parts I have purchased for my Monte recently were American made.

I dont hate em ! They are were the last best cars Mark V and big A$$ Eldorados and DeVilles. My buddy has a Caddy collection -14 of em and all mint and 1 Mark VI. He lets me drive them so I get to try out many,my favorite is the 72 Eldorado, big car but it feels like the size of a new CTS.
Heres a 78 Eldorado he just bought -29,000 miles -5 grand from a 90 yr old guy

Re: I Luv this
There are 2 that I know of around me. One was a white short bed that was on Craigslist for a while. I couldn't get him to straight out sell it to me. Then I saw it about 2 months later at a mini truck show. Spray bombed flat black and SLAMMED. I liked the stance but the hack A$$ paint job killed it. The other one was a rusty yellow long bed that was for sale right down the road. He was asking $2,800 and sold it within a week or so. Wish I could find one at a decent price to replace my S-10.
