Gas Prices
[quote="77mali"]Anthony- Don't be depressed. When push comes to shove I think you'll find that we are more resilient than not. You just wait until the House starts digging up the dirt on Benghazi & other things they've done & are doing.
I'm not so sure, anymore. Seems a large percentage of our country's population don't even bother to pay attention to what's going on and simply don't care about anything but the social issues that affect them. Morality and ethics are quickly fading away as people embrace the ideology that the end justifies the means. Hope I'm wrong...but, I don't know how else to make sense of this election in light of the piss-poor economy, high unemployment, looming expense of ObamaCare, unpopular energy policies, etc.

Re: Gas Prices
I agree that it seems that many have lost their morality (as well as the capacity for critical thinking) and they are the ones who are selfish.
Have faith my friend- there are alot of things to feel bad about right now. I'm not going to let myself get depressed & won't give up- there's too much at stake.

Re: Gas Prices
2.97 is the cheapest so far. I did notice a few station are heading back over 3.00 after dropping below. Bastards.

Re: Gas Prices
Filled up at $2.99/gal today at a Holiday station. Five miles down the road, another Holiday was at $3.19/gal. This is where I have a problem with the claim by these stations that they only make pennies profit on their gas. Holiday stations are corporate owned as far as I know. They have their own tanker trucks. I can only presume they all (meaning Holiday stations) pay the same price per gallon within a geographical area. So, if one Holiday station can make money at $2.99, the other one just down the road must be gouging.
One might speculate that the one station hasn't raised their price yet today to reflect an increase in wholesale gas delivered. Don't think that's the case, here. Other stations in that general vicinity were at $2.99, too. Not a single gas station anywhere around (and, I must have passed dozens traveling around the metro this morning) were any higher than $3.09...and, most were around $3.05. I don't begrudge any station from charging whatever they want (afterall, that's capitalism) as I and others have a choice where we want to buy gas. I just don't believe they are as helpless in dictating their prices as they want everyone to believe. Right now, I think $3.00/gal is their industry's pre-determined price point...give or take a few cents...and, they'll do whatever they can to hold it there through the winter despite their wholesale cost. Just my two-cents worth!
