Cruising the Local Strip
Well last night me and my cousin went cruising in my 70, We did cruise friday night as well but it wasnt as busy then. There were tons of people out and some acting crazy. Memorial is our strip, its a 4 lane road with plenty of stop lights. The main cruising area is about 3 miles long and its always just packed with kids in their riced out POS and then you got your LS1 douche bags and a few actual cool cars out there. We cruised for about 2-3hrs and got quite a few people beside us but none would ever "try" and race us. Only 2 actually did. I ended up getting next to a new C6 Corvette. He wouldn't run me from a dig but we let loose at about a 25mph roll. It was a good race and he pulled on me a tad till he hit 3rd and I walked away from him. Then I got some honda wanting to race me at a light, The light turned green I made alot of noise for him and let him go on ahead, all this went down and had an 02 SS camaro behind me, Guess he thought that he would get another win under his belt. Sorry to embarress you in front of your girl friend, but that car did run pretty good, he wouldn't admit anything done to it other than exhaust but it ran just as good if not better than that Vette. It was a slick SS and fast but like the C6 I left him when he got into 3rd.
Good Times in the 70 SS, it did great all night, couple of OH whoa nelly Stops killed the car and it loaded up a few times on me but it did great, probably spent near $20 bucks of 91 octane.
So anyone else have any stories?

With 145 horsepower, about the only thing I'll be beating is a homeless guy on a bicycle.

Where else can you get a night's entertainment for 20 bucks? Of course, that does not include speeding tickets. JB

LOL!
Yeah ... I don't race either. BUT ... I do love to cruise the streets and take my MCs for a spin every now'n'then during the spring/summer/fall months.

Re: Cruising the Local Strip
Ahh cruisin Memorial for suckers. That seems like only yesterday. I got a couple wins under my belt on that strip. A few in my old 76, a few more my Eclipse GSX. That's something I loved about Tulsa. Seems like you never run across the same guy twice in a night. Round here you & the only other 2 cars would be doing grudge matches all night.

Was it painted yellow with a little light on top? Just kidding, that was not a small task. JBant7377 wrote:Beat a 9c1 Caprice yesterday afternoon. (big deal!)
