Re: WTF are they thinking in Norway?
If you Think our norwegian friend is crazy, you should see what they race on the ice in sweden. I have seen guys ice race 32 ford hotrods with spiked rear tires and hemichargers. Expensive rare musclecars and so on. I know a guy that uses his hemi superbird all year round snow or no snow. Most roads outside the Citys in sweden have no salt.
The biggest hit nowadays is to have a chevy from the 50s - 60s with a diesel in it, they have a subculture in sweden where you eat sleep and live american and the 50s- 60s so much that the only car you can drive is an american car from those years. Some of the cars they drive is worse looking than most ratrods. They are all about the rockabilly and party hard. Those guys are crazy as hell.
Last winter a guy rolled his 32 hotrod on a frozen Lake. Not much left of it, it was a Real steel car to. I personale would never drive my chevelle in the winter let alone take a chance on wrecking it like that. In the summer time they have hillclimbing races, but not on asfalt, but dirtroads, they race everything up the Hill from caddilacs to pure dragrace cars. Its hard to watch a Nice 59 caddi all covered in mud. Go figure?
I would say our friend from norway is pretty normal in comparison.

Re: WTF are they thinking in Norway?
Call me crazy, but I think sliding it sideways in the snow where there are no curbs, poles or anything else to hit would be ablast.

Re: WTF are they thinking in Norway?
Thanks for sharing that Blazerteam. If one was to stop and think about it, this really isn't much different than racing on an old dry lake bed or Bonneville salt flats. Rather than sweating ones butt off, these folks are doing it on ice and freezing their butts off. Â lol
If you want to see what kind of contraptions these folks race on a froozen sheet of ice, check out this video,

Be sure to check it out at about the eight minute mark. That guy is just flipping crazy! lol

Re: WTF are they thinking in Norway?
I guess if you live in a country where its freezing more than 9 months a year, you need something to do that will keep you happy. But some of these guys take it a little to far though.
