X2. I bought mine when I bought my last 77 Malibu. It came with 76 Laguna parts but I don't see why it'd have Monte parts in it.

so montes have the mounts down close to the adjuster and we know the malibus are out to the corners more. so im gonna go out on a limb and "guess" the maybe the standar malibus got a flat bezel and the classics got the rounded ones since it was the up scale model. wonder if the montes had the same things?

My parts catalog shows the single head lights for the standard '76 & '77, but I don't believe I've ever seen one in those two years.

I just sold a 76 that had the single headlights, and I had a 76 El Camino parts car that had them too.

Well, that verifies what the parts catalog listed. Being that the '73 to '77 are so much alike, seeing a single headlight car wouldn't get a second look, as to the year.

my parents bought a brand new malibu wagon in 1977. it was blue with black inteior no options.

it had round headlights.

I thought all "base model" Chevelle's came w/ the round headlights even in 76 & 77. I don't think you could get quads unless you ordered Malibu Classic trim.
