I noticed some news about lawmakers looking into taxing pot, in California and other places.
They are visualizing billions in revenue !! Very Happy

I guess if it was legalized in the whole country, there would be revenue in doing it.

I didn't even know what pot smelled like until about 12 years ago, when I was repairing some wood boats at a marina. The owner & friends were puffing away, and I asked what the hell that smell was ! They laughed & asked if I wanted a "funny cigarette" Very Happy

I declined by the way !

They tax Booze & tobacco...I'm surprised it took em this long to figure it out. I don't think it should be legal (just decriminalized for possession in small amounts) so our jails aren't full of dumb kids who's lives will be ruined forever. Besides- where's the fun if it's legal.

By the way- I never inhaled...just like Bill Clinton. Very Happy

how many people make beer at home?
I don't think growing a few strawberry plants at home is gonna hurt anybody.
It's amazing that alcohol which creates more wreckage than all other drugs combined is legal and the herb is not. Ludicrous is the only word for that.

If I used pot, I would rather see it legalized & pay a tax on the stuff than get busted for having it Very Happy

I'm of the opinion that it's about damned time. People are going to do it anyway, so you might as well make it legal and tax and regulate the s**t out of it like booze and tobacco. Keeps people out of jail who don't belong there, leaving room for real criminals who do. Lowers the price and increases availability, which hurts the drug dealers. Increases local, state, and federal revenues, so property/sales/etc. taxes don't have to go up. Police (in theory) can spend their resources on more pressing matters. There's no downside.

And unlike Bill Clinton, I did inhale -- about 30 years ago. Triggered one of my migraines. I thought, "Screw this! If I want a headache, I can go to work and at least get paid for it." Smile

Yeah I inhaled once (OK a lot more than than once) but really its just a plant. I still find it odd that the government can out law a god made plant, that's effects are less severe than alcohol. OR tobacco. Smoking

Native American's & the colonists used to grow hemp & made all kinds of stuff out of it. Rope, clothes & textiles are some examples. I don't think it was made illegal until the 1930's. Could be wrong on the date but it wasn't that long ago considering we've been here since the 1600's.

I still think decriminalizing is the way to go. Legal trade would hurt more than help. We already have enough people (not just stoners) not paying attention to the world around them. It's like mentioned previously, we'd get all kinds of folks trying to beat the system like in the Moonshine biz. Once they collect taxes on a legal vice & you try to beat them out of "what's theirs"- they'll take you down & ruin your life if that's what it takes.

Yes it can cause breast cancer in males, I was working on some equipment at a mammography clinic and saw a guy there for an exam. I thought thats was kind of odd and asked the mammo tech about it.

She laughed and told me about that side effect.

or maybe he was just there for his annual manogram!
