Record High Gas Prices Today!
Our gas prices spiked at least $.75/gal in the past couple of days to a record high of $4.29 for our area! And, it's expected to go higher still! According to media, we can thank the geniuses in IL. for shutting down not one but two refineries for routine maintenance. I mean...what kind of stupid are these people who plan the shut down of two refineries at a time when they should be ramping up for the summer drive season? Oh, and they say our gas prices are now higher than in IL. No offense to anybody in IL., but how does that work when it's their refineries that are causing the problem? Looks like the Monte will be spending most of it's time in the garage rather than on the street this summer...

Memorial Day is coming...the annual rape of the consumer/traveler by the Petrol folks and their gas tax loving *ucks in states government. The Oh-man did say he wanted $5.00/gal gas in the US. It's coming sooner than later.
When the heck are people gonna really get PI$$ED about this horse ??

Yeah...WTF? Now, just heard another cause for our high prices is a refinery in El Dorado, KS went down unexpectedly. Of course, our hard-hitting news journalists couldn't dig up the real story if their lives depended on it. All the oil PR people have to do is give some lame excuse and media smiles and says, "oh...okay!" On to the next story! Wasn't 10-12 wks ago the so-called experts around here were claiming we'd see gas prices under $3/gal this summer.

You know- I have NO faith in any of the Ja-whore-nalists in the media today. They're ALL lapdogs for some "entity" like the petroleum industry or some political body or "cause". If they come on TV & tell you the sky is blue- question it. I can't wait to get my oil bill this coming winter if gas is going to hit 5 bucks. Might be time to go geo-thermal & get off the grid too.

I like flat roads
Gas here is (yeaterday) $3.75 & 9/10ths. Two months ago it was $3.99
Hard to tell what's behind gas prices. The avgas at my local airport was up to $6.40, and then dropped to $5.65. Now it's going up again. My airplane burns about 7 gallons an hour average, but on a trip I can lean it out t about 6.3 gallons an hour at altitude.

I've noticed prices beginning to rise again here in the "Nanny" state too. They did hover around nearly $4/gal for a long time and then quickly dropped to $3.50/gal for a while. It's been going up every couple of days by a couple cents at a time. Unfortunately my paycheck does not fluctuate with the gas prices...

Re: Record High Gas Prices Today!
Now, this morning, local news media said it was a third refinery in INDIANA! See what I mean...just any old excuse thrown out there and nobody in the media feels compelled to look into the inconsistencies to find out why we're suddenly taking it up the arse. I mean...wtf does a refinery shutdown in distant states like KS or IN have to do with our MN gas prices? We have our own refineries.

Re: Record High Gas Prices Today!
Remember in 2007 just before the financial meltdown was when fuel prices spiked into the mid 4.00 range. Truckers were slowing down big time, and I remember some independents talking about taking a few days off all at the same time, even though they weren't part of a "union".
All this has me thinking about making my own fuel at least for around town driving.
