Welcome to the site...from another '77 Monte owner! Glad you found us and look forward to hearing about your restoration. Feel free to ask questions, too.

I know to do it, but describing it is a whole new ball park. Here goes! If you look above the quick reply message box in the 4th grouping the first icon is host an image. Click that. Then when you retrieve your pic select size of pic you want displayed. Then right click on mouse and copy pic. Then go to insert image,(4th box 2nd icon. right click, paste pic) I think that's it. Of course you will need to respond to commands that pop up with each step. I hope I didn't confuse you, I'm not very computer savy.

Ok looks like I did it thanks bruiser . So this is my car the first time I saw it in a town about 40 mins away . Just knocked on the guys door and asked if he was selling it . It started straight up and drove great and was love at first site . We struck a deal and now she's all mine .

Welcome!
It looks pretty solid, and you appear to have all the brightwork intact and in good shape, which is the hardest stuff to find or recondition. Bodywork just takes elbow grease. Good luck!

I wish cars around here rusted like that. Ours are usually in need of doors, quarter panels, fenders, etc do to them rotting from the inside out.

Truer words were never spoken. I had to replace every panel except the roof, hood and one headlight bezel.

Yeah, mines had both quarter panels, both doors, Left front fender, hood, radiator core support, and transmission cross member replaced due to rot. The bottom of the right fender, trunk lid and pillars (between the side glass) also had rust holes that needed repaired. The car still need work in the floors, and trunk.thatfnthing wrote:dynchel wrote:I wish cars around here rusted like that. I can't believe how lucky I was with this car when it came to the condition of the body . I was told it had been outside all its life which explains the really faded and crumbling interior from sun damage . There's no hail damage either which is rare with the amount of hail we get here .

You can make that a really nice car,I agree with the guys above. Here its cut and paste half the car. Look up how to use Naval Jelly to get that surface rust off.You can get it at the hard ware store and it wont do as much damage to the metal as sanding.
