Back in the early 1960s, Richard Petty crashed the shown car so bad that it was buckled all over and yet Petty came thru it and went on to race for 2 more decades. This was not a safety designed car like today's cars. The only safety designs were glass removal and seat belts and a roll bar. No telling how fast he was going with that 413 cube engine in that Mopar. JB

Ive read that those guys would come out of turn 4 on to the front straight at say Daytona with the front wheel cocked to the left and the car still going straight out of the turn.
