That's why we need more guys like you working for the mags that are left -- preferably the ones that actually feature Chevies. I might even renew my subscription to CC.

If you're relying on Jim Campisano (Super Chevy) or Nick Licata (Chevy High) to fill your life with 73-77 A - body tech, you will have a very long wait. Not judging them, just stating the facts. In fact, putting this car in PHR routinely landed me in hot water.

Re: Good thing after PHR closed !
I am sure it did and it doesn't make since to me why. I never got to see the magazine article, just online. Didn't know about them until they had stopped appearing I guess. I was so excited when I found it online though. So rare to see a cool car in the media. By cool I mean something different that you don't see everyday. Something that average Joe can pick up and make something they are proud of. My 74 was bought for a demolition derby car by my uncle. I took one look at it at 11 years old and knew I couldn't let that happen. 28 now and it is my daily driver. I love it and would have anything else as long as I can keep from it.

Bottom line, if nobody values these cars enough to buy them when good deals come up, they will turn to dust. I can't sell mine for 30 cents on the dollar. It will probably be parted out.

I hate to see that happen, but you have to do what you have to do I guess. Big rock star like you though, maybe you should make it your daily and keep waving the G3 flag!

Re: Good thing after PHR closed !
I really liked the final version of that PHR Laguna project. Was PHR involved with the Holley Laguna wagon? (You know the one that Stacey David beat the F__k out of on GEARZ).
As far a people who hate on these cars:
1. They probably ain't never driven one
2. They lack "Testicular Mass"

I am sure people were looking at me at work trying to find out why I was just laughing.

I do remember it being mentioned that "nobody cares about that car". Remember also that car got painted then disappeared never to be seen again.thatfnthing wrote:But I'll bet nobody got in trouble for the Disco Nova. Â Sheesh.

Re: Good thing after PHR closed !
I had the chance for one of those novas too around the same time I get my chevelle it was a blue and silver rally sport.  It was complete sans motor and tranny.  Better shape than mine, but the 74 just called to me.  lol  I almost get a 74 eagle spirit.  It was a 4x4. kinda neat back then I thought.  It was like this one, but all navy blue if I remember correctly.
It had slot mags on it.

It costs a lot of money to fix a car up right and you rarely get it back. I figure I have over $30,000 in my Elkie and have it advertised for sale at $6,000. I still have a subscription to PHR good at least another year. I always buy 3 year subscriptions to save money. The ONLY way I have found out that PHR shut down is seeing it here. I still have about 10 or 20 years worth of PHR in storage and they will be hitting the garbage can before the first of the year. JB2wheeler

I guess you have all of the ones with this Laguna in them then. I would like to have those for sure. I will talk it over with the wife and see if we can somehow squeeze in a road trip maybe next month or so. I've got to get my brakes fixed first. Maybe I can write you an IOU for the pretty green truck/car of yours! lol Would you be up for some company maybe late next month or so JB?

And driveit i would pay shipping on the ones you dont want esp the how to articles from JB and all the other PHR and hot rod type mags it may take a few months to get them all shipped but if your willing I do not want this stuff ending up at goodwill and them tossing it out not knowing what it is.

Probably dozens. And there's a bunch more videos too. It started fall of 2008, so 6 years worth of issues.

Re: Good thing after PHR closed !
I must not be searching for the right stuff. I found maybe 5 videos. Only one of the car in action, but that was before any mechanical upgrades were done. If you happen upon any links to them post them if you have time. I would like to check them out.
