TH 400 Kickdown Help
In my '75 Project, we have switched to a TH400 from the TH350. Does anyone know if the kickdown on the gas pedal is the same as earlier Chevelles like the 70-72's.
What is on my '70 SS is a bracket on the gas pedal with a switch that goes to the Trans. This is factory and widely available in reproduction format so I would like to use the same setup on the '75.
Thanks for any assistance
Tom

I used this set up from lokar on the 56 chevy I had. It was great and very easy to adjust. I know its not stock looking but held up well for me for 16 years.

Re: TH 400 Kickdown Help
they are not the same, 70-72 used a different mounting pattern. You need to find a 3 bolt pedal bracket. Im thinking you could use one from a mid 70s truck. Or build your own, you just need it to flip the switch a tad before full throttle.

I am going to use a Nitrous Activation Microswitch that screws right into the side of the Carb. Real simple, reliable and adjustable and just $30 from JEGS.

Having another look at this, it may require a little more modifying than I want to do with a spring so I don't crush the switch at WOT. I might just buy the bracket and adapt a sliding switch. I'll figure something out soon.

Re: TH 400 Kickdown Help
OK False Alarm, the bracket on the accelerator has the mounting capability for the correct TH400 Switch. I also have one that I pulled from a salvage yard about 15 years ago that did not fit my '70 Chevelle.
