Re: 100 Ugliest cars of all time...
At a farm near me, there is an old Plymouth or maybe it's a dodge, from the 50s. Has to be a queen of the uglies ! It's been sitting along side of a barn for may years.......

Your average sedan looks like every other one in a parking lot today, dont get me started on color choices either.
Yes, this ... I'd much rather see some ugly daring designs ... than the cookie-cutter-play-it-safe-to-not-alienate-or-offend-anyone styling most new cars have nowadays.
*shrugs*
But, what do I know? I only drive older cars.

You get yourself a pacer, madator, Edsel, or early '60's Chrysler product.knightfan26917 wrote:ant7377 wrote:The thing is they should at least be a little daring with their designs which they just dont do anymore. Yeah, but you could also get a Boattail Riviera or 63-65 Riviera or even some might say a 63-67 Corvette. Cars that when they came out were controversal but became big hits and people love to today. I really think its all opinion.

Yep, it is ... I know a few people who say the 1973-7 colonnades (particularly the mc & Pontiac models) fit into that category, too.
Saw a Matador sedan while in southwestern IL yesterday ... wouldn't mind that at all.

Re: 100 Ugliest cars of all time...
The car culture is weird.
A lot of cars are like Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton. Famous and expensive just for being famous and expensive, but mostly worthless and not particularly attractive. Just fashionable
Let's say a Shelby Cobra for example. Essentially a race car.
I like 'em, but what is it really?
A pedal car with an engine.
The car itself is good looking, but I've never seen one driven by an adult that didn't look kinda silly. Usually, the driver is looking up over the wind shield, and squeezed into the driver seat. Kinda like a teenager on a Big Wheel.
It's got to be hard to drive and the 289s aren't even that fast. These things sell for hundreds of thousands, some times millions.
And a fake plastic one is
40k
Go figure.

LOL! Ford has a history of underpowering their "musclecars" with inferior cylinder head designs.Kinda like the inferior heads on the two Hollywood bimbos, all painted up but nothing under the hood.

Re: 100 Ugliest cars of all time...
Exactly, Fish.
And you've also got the:
"I love that car because everybody else does"
"I'm getting 20s because the car mags said to"
"I'm gonna spend 5 thousand dollars to put an LS in my $500 car because everybody else is"
" I HAVE to lower my car 2 inches because my friend did it to his"
Sheesh.
Or on the other side (like the article)
"That car sucks because Edmunds says so"
"That car sucks because it's not a Nova, Camaro, Mustang, Impala, 'Real SS GT', 'Cuda etc etc
Predictable and booooooring.
Lots o car guys have trouble thinking for themselves.

Re: 100 Ugliest cars of all time...
Why couldn't Pontiac do their fans a favor and offer "RamAir" Trans-Ams with an actual functioning "RamAir" hood scoop? I LMAO years ago when I looked under the hood of a 97 "RamAir" TransAm and discovered Pontiac was selling a fake non-functioning product name, they should have been sued for false advertising.Damn fakes,I hate'em.(but I do have a soft spot for the 60's big-block land barges such as Bonnevilles,Catalinas,Wildcats, etc.GTO'sare just too popular with the conformist puppet crowd to hold my interest.
