Where are the female car enthusiasts?
I'm beginning to think girls like Courtney Hanson are just mythical creatures like the unicorn, does anyone here actually know a female who REALLY doesn't mind grease under her nails and transmission fluid in her hair? Do these ladies really exist and are there any who can do a brake job on a Saturday afternoon and then look hotter than a fifty dollar pistol at the cruise-in?

Re: Where are the female car enthusiasts?
They are out shopping.
I was watching Velocity the other day and my wife asked "why do all of these car shows think they have to have women on them?"
It's a good question...eye candy or something to get women to watch?
Courtney is a good example. On Overhaulin' they would often set up a shot with her standing there in her tight britches and heels looking like she was tearing off a bumper, but she never got dirty. Now the upholstery woman really did dig in and bust her A$$.
My wife comes from a "car guy" family, and she loves the cars and going to shows and cruises. She'll get out in the garage and help me too.
But she probably would rather be shopping for purses or shoes.
I've got 2 daughters and they have despised dirt, grease and bugs since birth.
In other words, women can work on cars they just don't normally wanna.
The TV women are mostly actresses playing "car chick".
The real "car chicks" ARE out there and they ain't unicorns.
They're more like that monster under your bed. You know they are there, you just never really see one.

Re: Where are the female car enthusiasts?
Wearing high heels while "supposedly" working on a car, is just as bad as the typical BS in car shows on Velocity. "We have only a week to get this done " etc....the usual load of crap.
It's all about entertainment I suppose.....
As far as the "tight britches" are concerned, I'm not complaining

My brothers in law both had/have cars when my wife grew up so she dosent give me a hard time but she gets bored at shows and stuff if the other wives arent there.

Indeed. I know a few guys who are married to the real car gals ... just wish I was 1 of them.

LMAO!
I've seen a few of those myself. Â
If you watch "All Girls Garage" (and I do!) pretty much the cream of the crop out there now, at least on tv. Â Courtney and her replacement on Overhaulin' don't really like to get dirty. Â The gal on Garage Squad has done some stuff but I've yet to see her remove a Trans of do any dirty work like suspension or cooling system stuff.

That Jessie (?) chick that was on  xtreme 4x4 (I think) was a badass. She used to weld and everything. Pretty hot too.

Don't know what happened to her. Saw her hawkin' car wax a while back.

Re: Where are the female car enthusiasts?
Jessie Combs is her name. She was an original cast member on All Girls Garage until she got called up to the majors on Overhaulin'. She went to Wyotech, she does a commercial for them now as an alumni. She knows her stuff.
IDK if any of us 'guys' would have a shot w/ her...knowmsayin'?

I heard she likes Chicks. I also heard Wyotech closed. Their financing was kind of a sham from what I read. They would bang you over the head with intrest once you graduated.
