who runs p275-60 15's in rear....
On a 73 Chevelle? If you do, were you able to run stock suspension, I.e.not having to Jack it up with big springs or air shocks? What rim backspacing? I have a line on a local set for sale here that would be nice for a "day 2 look. He's selling autodrags 15x7 with the 275-60 15's for rear and 215-70 15's for the front. The look would be meaner, and I'd also like to see the difference in handling with his modern radial tires instead of my stock size bias plys. I'd save the stock set for shows

I have them on my 77 monte. Rim has a 4 inch back space. They go right on no air shocks or anything, plenty of room.

That is encouraging, thanks. Hope the same translates to 73 Chevelle.

This was 275/60/15 on all 4 corners If was to do it again I would go to a smaller front for a staggered look. these were only 8" wide also..... The Prostar's are 7' front with a 235/70/15 and rears are 8" with 255/60/15 Drag radial

Yupper Stock suspension, no air shocks, IIRC it was 4" backspace on 8" wheel's only thng that wasnt stock was the Boxed control arms but that wont affect any tire travel what so ever, I can double check with the person that Bought the wheels on Backspace it might have been 3 3/4" now I think about itclanceman427 wrote:Cool Anthony. I run 275-60-15 on a 8 with 4 inch backspace. I have had no trouble with it. I have Stock springs, and no air. I have had a 295 on a 10 inch rim back there with no problems. I have a 7 inch rim in the front with 235-60-15. Front suspension lowered 2" also no problems exept the engine bridge tend to hit the pavement If i go over High curbs etc.

I'm running 295/50/15's in the back on 15x8 corvette rally wheels with 2 inch lowering spring all the way around. Not a lot of room but no rubbing.

Re: who runs p275-60 15's in rear....
Found another pic (note the drag radials in my pics measure out a little over 1/2" wider than a regular 275/60)
And no the tire is not shredded from rubbing anything on the '73, they were on another car that got hit, I just keep them around as rollers.

Are the 275-60s on your 73 in your signature photo? That looks nice from behind, aggressive looking. Side question:.did your 73 come with the chrome trim around the rear quarter Windows factory? I read somewhere that the trim was SS only.

Yes, and yes. My car was totally original & unmodified w/ 62k miles on it when I got it (mostly still is)
