New motor started but now it won’t.

I have just got my 73 chevelle back from a shop that had it for 2 years and they striped my new parts off and replaced with bad parts this was a almost complete restoration. Had to get police enrolled. But here is my problem 454 engine was rebuild from ground up new everything. I have currently put new accel distributor and coil with plug wires. New plugs new Holley 4150 carb replaced complete wiring harness they butchered the new one I put in the first time. Drained gas tank getting gas from hose coming from a gas can. The car started right up idled sounded good. Shut it off went out next morning to set timing and now it won’t start. I’m baffled have checked everything I know of but just won’t.

Do the easy things first. Check for spark. Then check for fuel.

Also, is the accel distributor you put in electronic? If it is, dont use the original power wire, it wont give you full 12 volts. With electronic you have to run 12v from the fuse block (switched terminal) to the distributor.

But check for spark and then fuel and report back. Dont start pulling things apart.

Hey. Do you still have fuel in your carb bowls? Do you have a fuel filter? It could have sucked something out of the gas can and plugged something. Keep us posted.
