POWERTRAX No slip, Lock Right, Detroit EZ Locker or other Lunch box lockers

Has anybody used or have experience with so called "Lunch Box" lockers??
Are they durable? If you have personal experience or provable links please share.
Powertrax has the powertrax lock right

And the powertrax no slip which is a supposed street style improved lock right.

I read that powertrax has a drop in clutch type posi called the "Grip LS" here http://www.richmondgear.com/HotNewsStangTV.html but I can't seem to see if its for sale and has been tested.

Yukon gear and axle sell the "spartan locker" a copy of the Lock right made overseas reportedly.

These units install just like a mini spool but I read they have side gears with ratcheting teeth that meet with two middle plates that surround the center pin that make them act like a locking diff or posi. With varying results and levels of ratchetyness.

I was just driving my 76 Malibu around today in the rain and with the 50% worn out 245/60's on it and 2.73 gears with an open diff it burned the right rear so badly going up a slight grade after a stop light I worry it could leave me stranded on a hill here in Seattle if I was in the rain and had to stop.
My 74 still has the mini spool I put in it last fall, but my buddy who is taking forever to paint it still has it over on the Olympic Penninsula a daytrip away.
Is it worth it to put in a lock right??
or should you just buck up and pay for an eaton.

Its just that it seems to snowball,
Like if I buy an Eaton posi or Truetrac, and if I buy a new carrier theres almost no reason not to go with a 30 spline unit. And the 30 spline carrier needs 30 spline axles.I need to replace the bearings, and I'd much rather have 3.08 gears than 2.73's so theres that.
Pretty soon you're looking at 1500 easy
And the late model caprice rearend is not a direct bolt in as far as I can tell, lets not get into the particulars of that here. And chances are it would be worn out anyways.
So whats up, how do you pick where to stop?
These drop in lockers are no doubt bandaids, but I plan on having more chevys and they will most likely have ten bolts so the Lock Right could kinda handme down.

I have the powertrax extreme traction locker. It works very well, however it is a bit noisey when it ingauges/disingauges.

this leads me to another question, has anybody installed a lock right in a bolt in axle press bearing style 8.5 ten bolt? And if so was there any problems for not having c clips in the carrier?

When I put the 8.5 ten bolt mini spool(which was designed for a c-clip 8.5 by yukon) in my 74 which has the B.O.P. bolt in axle rear, I literally had to stack up a wad of the right size hardend washers(like 5/8" fenders) on the center pin to keep the two inside blocks of the mini spool against the walls of the case, which in a C-clip axle is handled by the c-clips and axle nubs sticking in there and keeping the blocks apart.
