what are harder to find ?
Since my 74 chevelle will be wrapping up in a year or so, I am starting to search for that next "project". I think I am going to stick with a 3rd gen a-body. Growing up, my brother and I had some pretty nice cars. Among them, a couple 1974 Chevelle's, a 1973 442, and a 1973 cutlass supreme. My brothers buddy also had a nice 1973 cutlass S.
I always have had a soft spot for the cutlass dash and styling of the exterior. I would love to find a 442 like my brother had, or even a Hurst Olds. I looking around I see a few of these cars around the country with varied prices. My question is this:
What do we, as probably those who know best, believe the rarest or most desirable 73-77 GM's ? I understand "desirable" is always in the eye of the beholder. Based on production numbers, and collectability. Can-am's are fair game. Hurst Olds, 442's, Buick Grand Sport's, Big Block 4-speed Chevelle's, GTO's, all come to mind. Please don't list the 1973 Baldwin Motion Chevelle as I am sure that is at the top of the list.....

73 GTO is hard to find not being so rusted out to use
Grand sports are also hard to find in Good to fair shape
Can Am's have been popping up alot lately
Hurst olds could never go wrong

I think Limey owns them all now, so you can cross that one off the list.

Re: what are harder to find ?
I added another link,in another thread.
Dans Garage has a 73 4 speed Grand Am for sale,at $2800,highly optioned, with power sunroof.
Original transmission is gone, now sporting an automatic.
But pretty rare and cheap.

Re: what are harder to find ?
If it was me buying another my first choice would be a 73 Grand Am 455 4spd after that would be 73 Hurst Olds or 75 Hurst Olds. Another would be a 73 Cutlass Supreme but just because we had on when I was little.

Re: what are harder to find ?
I love those Hurst Olds. I always wanted a black and gold one. Also, growing up my brother had a 73 442. Red with black stripes and a black interior. 455, 4 spd car. That was fun!! Â Maybe an Olds is what I need.

Re: what are harder to find ?
I'd have to go for the Grand Am.
It would have to be black.
And I'd strip off all of the emblems and put this on the fenders with "Staff Car" pinstriped underneath.

Re: what are harder to find ?
Gonna drive or sell the car?
Im not sure why the 4 speed was only available, with the 400,but if I planned on selling the car later,Id try to find the correct 400,and rock crusher.
Hard finding parts and trim, for the power sunroof, but I may grab the Grand Am,as my next project, and just drive it.BBC would be my choice...I never sell cars.

Re: what are harder to find ?
I would build it to drive. I never wanted to give away all my hard work.
I'm not ready for the next car just yet. If you need sunroof parts I have some left from mine.

Re: what are harder to find ?
You can always get a uhaul with a trailer and get it yourself. Also check in hemmings motor news in the services offered section there is plenty of them in there too.

Re: what are harder to find ?
I paid 125 bucks for the large u haul carrier 2 years ago. Picked it up in baltimore dropped it off in new york. Just have the correct type of vehicle to tow with. And dont go with a tow dolley since the car is unregistered and will be technically on the road.
