No, the Olds is slightly further back than the chevy and the cable is different enough to have to get another cable.

Here is how the shifters compare to each other. I lined them up at the point the cable attaches

hey red there is someone at the other place that actually made the chevy shifter work with the olds handle the name escapes me at the moment but it looked killer, and another cut to fit the olds console and made it look real nice same upholstery as the interior on it looked really sharp s well

After looking at my original shifter I think it is what is known as a "his n' hers" shifter. I just tried it and it seems to work like one.
The driver holds pressure to move the shifter handle to the passenger side during upshifts, and the mechanism prevents the shifter from accidentally going into neutral. Did all console cars get this?

Because of the mechanism inside the shifter that would be difficult at best.

the console shift i have is the same way so i would be safe to assume so
