laguna nose fittment Empty laguna nose fittment

I decided to install a laguna nose i acquired on my 74malibu......fits like crap....any imput from you guys....did they fit bad when new? Do they get worse with age? Worst is down the sides, fenders seem wider then the nose so there is quite a jump out to fenders from nose.

I have or had the same problem! I believe that's just the way they were designed. I have yet to see one that wasn't factory installed have the same issues. When I decide to tackle that project, I think I will see what causes the fenders to "stick out" like that and try to cut or modify to remedy that. Don't know if it is fixable, but at least I'll try. I'm like you, I can't just leave it be, it looks terrible! I believe the difference is almost 1/2 to 1/4 inch height variation in the fender to nose going down the sides of the car.

Have you loosened all the attatching bolts and tried moving the fenders around or are you fitting the nose on as is? That is possibly where the factory fitment comes in you were talking about. If you have already tried that and they still dont fit, you may have to look at the bracketry that hangs it to the fender/ rad support.

If you see a perfect one, someone has had to have done some filler work. They never were very straight on the verticle ends of the nose. That urethane was still a new process and not perfect by any means.

If the front plastic facia has no paint on it, maybe you could use a heat gun on it & re-shape it a bit. I've had to do that with plastic bumper filler panels...
Just an idea....
