Any of you guys using this? I want to buy new rims for my 77 and Im debating going staggered with 7 inches in front and 8 in the rear but im going to use 255 60 in front which I have on there now but with an 8 inch rally wheel. I want to put 7's in front but with the same tire and I dont want it to look taller than the 275 60's in back . Can I get a measurment of the side wall or even the over all tire?

I have 255-60X15s with 7 inch wheels on the rear of my Malibu. No big deal there. The Summit catalog used to have the recommended wheel width for listed tires, but they changed their format in the later catalogs.

And I have 225-60X15s on the front.....

I'm not understanding the question. You want to change the front rim from an 8 to a 7" wheel? So why should the tire look any taller? It is only a 1/2" side to side narrower on the wheel. You will not even notice it. The fronts should be about 1" shorter than the rears overall height.

There will be a little more sidewall buldge. But it won't make it "taller.

I have 7s and 8.5s. the 8.5s look like they were born there due to the (factory) flaired fenders.

Ant if you look at the cooper cobra on the wheel in the Lower left corner that's a 255/60/15 on a 7" wheel that's all the bulge it would have

Keep it on the 8's Anthony. Better traction & the look more natural with those big @$$ fenders & the Monte stance. Just my $0.02.

Personally, I've never cared for 8" wide on the front. (Reminds me of a circle track car). I've always been partial to more of a drag strip look, but to each his own.

My 76 Monte has 15x8s in the rear, and 7's in the front, and the 73 Monte has 8s all around, I definitely like the 8" wheels better.
