Re: favorite vehicle?
I will have to agree with you. I love big dinosaur "boats". Full size Chevy's from '55 till '90. I also am a fan of full size fords from late '50's on. I've owned a '78 caprice classic 2 door (pos beater) a '86 caprice classic landau (clean southern car) a clean '86 ford crown Victoria (clean body & under carriage but questionable mechanically) currently have a '03 crown Victoria. My first car was a '78 Pontiac Catalina (basically a impala)

Awesome, John!
Any pics of the cars you had, by chance? Would love to see 'em, if so!

Re: favorite vehicle?
I had a 82 Caprice dd years ago. Tough SOB went through snow storms like a champ. Winter of 93 anyone remember? Caprice conquered it. Loved my Olds 98 too and 80 Lesabre but the Buick was kinda beat. My next boat will be a 77-79 Caddy Coupe Deville done like guys used to do in the 80s,tru spoke wheels tinted windows a little rake in back and loud stereo. I like way too many cars to have a favorite.

Re: favorite vehicle?
I bought a new Pontiac Catalina Coupe in 1959. Really liked that car. Had it for 7 years, rebuilt the engine and trans once.
Then, I traded it in on a new Pontiac Tempest Sprint, the model with the new OHC 6. white, with stripes etc for that model. It has to be the worst piece of crap I ever owned. Only good part on that car was the engine. 1st year : heater puked on the floor, twice, and a bit later the heater controls fell out on the floor, the rubber weather strips on the little rear quarter windows kept falling off ( I finally epoxied them on ) The rear suspension was a real jewel....in reverse I had to be careful, or the rear wheels would hop all over, jump up & down etc....
Then, the transmission somehow became shifted in two gears at once ! Weird stuff with that piece of crap car.
I traded it in on a 1965 Caddy. Solved that problem !
And, my other favorite was a 1977 El Camino Classic that I bought new. Had it until 2009, when rust finally ate it up...
That's my story....and I'm stickin' to it

My 1979 Caprice Classic is that exact same way ... it LOVES the cold (unlike its owner) & the snow.

I hate rust.
The EC years I like best are 1973, 1977 & 1987.

Re: favorite vehicle?
I would have to say my 1968 Volkswagon bus. My dad got it free when I was 14 and he and I got it running and did ALLOT of body work and painted it. Many great memories in that bus.

Re: favorite vehicle?
Is this a trick question? 73 Monte, duh.
Though I will confess to having my 97 Ram SS/T as a very close second.

My favorite is shown below.
I really dig my K5 Blazer.
Sometimes, it's the memories and/or the history as much as the vehicle.

Re: favorite vehicle?
I should probably re-name my favorite driver, my Chevy pickup. Bought it new in '92, and still drive it every day. 283K miles etc. Seems like we get comfortable in certain cars after having them for a long time...
Of course, a performance car keeps the smile, especially when smoking a late model car at a traffic light

Re: favorite vehicle?
So far after having owned maybe 20 different cars from US, Germany, UK, Italy, Japan and Sweden I'd have to say my 2001 Volvo C70 convertible:
1 - comfortable
2 - safe
3 - fast (245 HP)
4 - great mileage
5 - really reliable, going onto 180k miles and still drives like new with only routine maintenance
