Yeah there were alot of turds but fortunatly the good ones outweigh the turds. There are still alot of Grand Prix's GTO's Firebird's Catalina's Bonneville's and Lemans' out there.

I still don't see why Pontiac outlasted Olds. Seriously, what did they offer in the last decade (besides the Azcrack) that wasn't just another vehicle re-badged? Oh wait they had the GTO! LMAO what a jellybean of a car. At least when Olds went down, they still had their own engines. Yeah that's right, ever hear of the Aurora V8 or the Shortstar V6? Both were Oldsmobile specific & died with the marquee.

I care so much about Pontiac that there's a 1980 SJ sitting beside my garage rotting away like it has been for the last ten years. It will probably sit there another 10-20 years.

Although true that they haven't had many "hits" since the Trans Ams and such, Pontiac did have the Solstice and the G8 pretty recently. They were pretty incredible for what they were, but too little too late it seems.

yes very true too little too late, they should have brought that UTE up from Austraillia and they prob would have survived .................435+ HP?? el camino that handles like a true sports car

Solstice was the same as the Saturn Sky, but I forgot about the rear wheel drive G8. Too bad it died so quickly, since GM had planned on using that platform to bring the Caprice back.

Its really a great car .Goes like stink too. My wife drives it everyday (I guess I should say its her car LOL) This would have been a great Chassis for a new retro- A body size car. The Cop car Caprice is coming though in 2011
and there is talk of it being available to the public soon after.

I love Pontiacs! They were the performance division of GM. Olds was the performance division until about 1958 and then Pontiac took over. Buick did pull off many performance upsets along the way, tho. In 1974 the Buick was the handling champion of GM even tho Pontiac always put emphasis on handling. In the 1970s Olds and Chevy were the best looking cars and Pontiac and Buick were dogs, sorry pontiac and Buick owners. JB
