Reputation system

Got to thinking about it & I wanted to know how everyone feels about reputation systems? I know we have the seller/buyer feedback threads which help out newcomers that want to do some business, but what about the hardcore troubadours here that have gave out some real useful (or non-useful ) info or have went out of their way to find/do stuff for others? I'm not even sure if this is possible, but any thoughts are appreciated.

agreed i say the more you help the more rep you get, mabey put a line under the starts under the names that fills in more and more??
