Gauge swap
Alright, car comes home from heart transplant this week. Interior work begins.
Car currently has the dummy lights with the big gas gauge next to the speedo.and mecanical gauges mounted under the dash.
I have two gauge pods, one from a 73 El Camino w/ 120 mph speddo, I'm not sure where the other came from, but it has "unleaded fuel only" under the fuel gauge, and a 100 mph speedo with the kph numbers in it as well, so I assume it's from a later (77?) monte or chevelle.
Which of the two would be the easiest to swap in? and what do I need to do it? i have a new circuit board i got from OPG for 73-77 chevelle with gauges. I know GM went to electronic gauges in 71 or 72, so it should work.
Any of you guys done this swap? or should I just mount the mechanicals in place of the dummies?

Re: Gauge swap
Sorry man, I completely rewired mine with all the aftermarket Autometer gauges. It took many hours...
I thought there was a thread on here about swaping out gauge clusters though. Did you read through all the old ones?

The only one i could find was swapping the sweep gauges out for the roundies.

I wired up the mechanicals the other day, and an electric sending unit for the oil pressure gauge was there. Do you think that sending unit is different for the gauge vs. the dummy light?

yes temp sender is different from gauge or light
