remote mirror panel bezel Empty remote mirror panel bezel

Post by A_Tame76 Sat Aug 30, 2008 3:52 pm

ok...another question for you all. On my 76 malibu, I have a remote mirror control on the driver side. I took off my upper door panel and the backing of this control has 2 prongs that stick through the door panel. It looks as if these two prongs should have a backing nut on it to hold it in place. Does anyone have any idea if this is how the control is secured to the door panel, and if so, where I can find these backing nuts. My controller is loose obviously. Thanks in advance.

A hardware store should have them. I think they are called speednuts.

I am trying to remove mine from the 74 Laguna parts car. The upper panel is off, and the mirror is off. where does the cable come apart so i can get this away from the door? Right now they are hanging one inside, the other outside.

from what I remember, theres a small flat retainer clip on the back of the little controller part for the remote. Remove that retainer and you should be able to seperate the cable from the remote and then from the door panel.

I believe that if you flex it slightly, it should slide right out.
