Colors on cars

Post by bigredlaguna on Sun Aug 29, 2010 12:41 pm

The section titled "Can color add or detract from a car's value?" backs up what I thought about certain hue between yellow and blue.

They said if you have a green car you might as well junk it because nobody will want to buy it. I guess there is some truth to that. JB

The article also said that mfrs. will introduce pink as an option here in the states because of its popularity in China. Think anybody except Mary Kay will buy that color? Talk about globalization gone amuck, that's it right there.

Have you ever seen a 1955 Furd Crown Victoria painted pink & white? How about one painted pink and black? They were sharp cars. JB

You could get away with that on the older cars because of all the trim work. I think it would be harder to pull color combos like that on newer cars and make it look right because their is rarely a body line or brightwork to break up a base color coat.

Only thing that could be done is pinstriping to "create" a visual break, and if not designed right, would look rather cheesy like generic graphics from Autozone.

I like the new fuchsia Challengers. I'd get one for my wife anyways. Regardless of decreasing value in the future, Sublime Green would have been a wise one to bring back IMHO.

Challenger looks best in Plum Crazy, IMO.

I too would like to see a Challenger in Sublime.

Saw a '73 Roadrunner over the weekend in Sublime. What a sharp A$$ car.

Yessir. Too bad they went under. I'd love to see a modern AMX or even Javelin. GoFast
