Is this a trim pieace, or is painted?

that would explain why i can't seem to find one at the selvage yard, thanks guys

it may be less of a headache to wrap it in leather, or any other material that matches your interior..i wrapped mine with black leather, looks pretty sharp, ill try to post a couple pics on here when i have the piece of mind.
