Hate to keep beating a dead horse, but our gas prices just shot up to $3.79 for 87 octane. That's what...About a $.40 increase in less than two weeks?!! Now, I'm really getting pissed...

WTF...I always thought it was price fixing when everyone in our area always had the same price. Now, I see it's the same situation all over the Upper Midwest! This stinks!

The same in the northwest. Gas comanies get record profits and say they have to raise the price because the cost goes up per barrel of oil. Yet didnt they have to take time to refine it to gas first and wasnt that oil bought at a lower price at the time.

I'm still wondering why it took a barrel to reach $147 two yrs ago before we saw prices rise to this level...and, we're already there when a barrel is at $108. This has nothing to do with normal supply and demand economics like any other commodity. I'm sick of the game-playing.

Gas has been $3.85 in Indy for the last couple days. At least my Blazer gets about 20 mpg. Too bad it has a 20 gallon tank whenever I need to fill up Mad

This runs deeper than Wall Street. You need only look at how this current administration (yes, Obama) is kowtowing to those 10% of the population who are self-professed environmentalists and who could care less if gas shot up to $10/gal. In fact, the higher the price of gas, the more people are forced to succumb to their idealogy of how we shouldn't even be using gas/oil...or coal...or lumber...or anything else that is "environmentally damaging". Why do you think there is all this resistance to opening up more drilling? When are people finally going to say enough is enough?

I paid $3.86.9 today. Seems to be the price for the last few weeks. Maybe if the oil companies get even more tax breaks from us, the price may only go up another buck! Rolling Eyes

Anyone who doesn't realize that this country is run by corporations needs to look around.

Nothing wrong with drilling if it's done correctly, and if somebody designs a blow-out valve that works in an emergency. (The one in the gulf was determined to not work, because of bad design) If the oil is down there, we need it, at least for the forseeable future.
Politicians don't have a lot of say about the oil industry, those folks do just about what they want. And the old man (who I like) and his not-too-bright side kick wouldn't have made any difference anyway.

RP would have been alright, but my vote would have went for Mike Huckabee. I hear Haley Barbour has considered running. He might be a decent choice considering he worked with both Reagan & Bush Sr.
