HELLO MY G3ERS
Hello i have myself a 76 malibu that i got as my second car. Im a muscle car guy. the first time i saw it the thing looked like a fat slow car. but as i got to driving it everyday it grew to my project car that i love.
The Dude:
I live in a area with no other G3ERS around. and i drive mine EVERYDAY. i grew up around my dads shop. 40 fords,55,57 chevys and a few mopars that i wont say have been in that shop but from day one a red 66 Pontiac GTO with a 455 (now a 462) T56 trans and 4.10 gears was my dads car. I love that car.
The car: a old ladys church going car till 88' when it started its hibernation till i bought it. still wearing its STs on tis 8inch rallys. I bought a almost rust free car for 5500 bucks. only 100,000 miles. funny part is it was sold at the chevy dealer in my hometown.
What it will be:
Im a muscle car guy not a hot rod or a low rider guy so i picked up a 650 holley, a performer plus cam and lifter set, a intake, a new rearend, (it had a bolt in axle ponitac) 3.42 gears and a posi. the rearend, its gears and posi are in but the rest will be for a cool weekend.
Thanks for all the help and the aid of a great group of people.

Re: HELLO MY G3ERS
Hello Jared76. Very nice car. My 74 Elky came from the factory with the Oldsmobile rear end assembly also. A rare occurance for sure. JB

My Monte Carlo has an Oldsmobile rear as well. Remember when you need axle bearings they are different and press on

Re: HELLO MY G3ERS
Looks like you are hooked on a G3 ! I would prefer an Olds rear if it has press-on axle bearings. The Chev rear with bearings running on the axle wasn't a good idea at all. Had to put an axle-saver bearing/seal combo in my Malibu. I had to scrap one rear end because the bearings wore into the axles, and the housing too.

That was the original set up for my car...saddle dash, headliner & carpet & light buckskin seats & interior trim. LOL. Wish I had found mine in that condition.
