Know its been talked about before but none of the links in the sticky or old posts really work. Looking for best springs to drop my 77 cutlass, most online searches dont bring up much. any ideas on how much if any fabrication is needed fr coil overs? whats the cost difference between lowering springs and coil overs. does it need an alignment either way i drop it? BTW it is a drag car with minimal street time.

Dont feel like taking them out, cutting them, putting them back to find it wasnt enough or to much.

Most lowering springs are designed with a higher rate along with being shorter. From what I understand, this isn't conducive to drag race style weight transfer.

You may want to look at the "trick" springs designed for drag racing. If you don't want to go that extreme, you might look at a factory spring that has a softer rate than what you have now, and cut to size.

The idea is to have the spring help lift the front through the entire length of suspension travel, and the typical lowering spring doesn't have enough free height to extend all the way to the end of suspension travel, or if it does, it doesn't have enough stored energy to be effective for a drag race launch.

On another board I go on they are putting a Hotchkiss springs and stuff in a 89 Caprice. They will test it too,since they are similar in weight and stuff maybe see how it does,im sure they will drag it too.

According to morosos website they dont have one specificly for a g3, does anyone know if earlier A-body springs will fit?

THey will fit ,you cant drive with them on the street to good ,the car would be all over the place,I dont remember if you street drive this car.

PST lists what they call "Heavy Duty Lowering" springs on their website. I'm not sure how they'll work for the load transfer you'll need though.

That looks good! In my 76 Monte, with the lesser weight of the ZZ4 crate engine, my front end is up a bit high. The only option I think I've found is to also cut the front springs, I havent done it yet though.

Hotchkis 2 inch drop camaro springs for 73 camaro is what I have in mine with offset control ARM shafts and I love em the car really sticks to ground and doesn't bounce from weight
